During his six years with the Academy, the rookie learned the importance of discipline and teamwork. All the training he got as a Gooner wasnt just about learning the techniques of dribbling, shooting or ball passing. The top priority of his learning phase was working with his colleagues and teammates and paying close attention to his coaches.

Moving through the ranks was very easy for the skilled midfielder. Ethan’s coaches saw he was driving at lightning speed, and it was time to promote him to the next level. Using age metrics to measure progress would be impossible because the London-born prodigy was already swifter than his age group. On the 1st of July 2022, in the 22/23 season, Nwaneri left the youth academy and began playing for the under-18 team at Arsenal. However, he began training with the first team, coming in as a substitute against Fabio Vieira in the match against Brentford. Ethan broke the record at 15 years and 181 days, becoming the youngest Premier League player, a milestone Harvey Elliott held.

In addition, Nwaneri is also the youngest Arsenal player in any competition. This was achievable because of the injury of Martin Odegaard, as stated by the coach Mikel Arteta. Regardless of age, the young midfielder didn’t falter and delivered his role without a fuss. In June 2023, Ethan signed his professional contract with the club. Which took effect on his seventeenth birthday, on the 21st of March 2024.

While Ethan continues to make appearances on the main team, he is also undergoing further training on the reserve team.
