Ugarte got sold, and he, alongside Pablo Sarabia, became Sporting CP’s best signing for the 2021/2022 season. His arrival at Sporting CP came at a time the Portuguese club witnessed the departure of their best young talent to PSG, the person of Nuno Mendes.
While at Sporting CP, Manuel Ugarte provided competition to his fellow teammate, João Palhinha. He joined a top team that boasts many young talents like Pedro Porro, Matheus Nunes, Gonzalo Plata and Pedro Gonçalves.
