Kieffer Moore Biography – Untold Football Story:

Before making his mark as a professional footballer, Kieffer Moore faced financial difficulties with his football school, leading him to join Paignton Saints, a club in Devon, England.

At Paignton Saints, Moore emerged as a standout player, netting 47 goals in 43 appearances over two seasons. His impressive goal tally caught the attention of larger non-league clubs, and in 2012, Kieffer signed with Truro City, a team in the Conference South.

The Torquay native began his career in the most humble way.

The Torquay native began his career in the most humble way.

Unfortunately, again, this club (whom Kieffer scored 13 goals for in 22 matches) ran into financial difficulties. Because of his goal-scoring quality, Keiffer’s good CV fetched him another club.

He joined Dorchester Town in February 2013, where he kept on scoring. After finding the back of the net around seven times, Moore got the attention of Yeovil Town, who signed him in that same year, 2013.

Road to Fame Story:

For many footballers in the English lower leagues, the dream is to climb up the ranks and make it to higher levels of the game. Unfortunately for Kieffer Moore, that dream was tested when Yeovil Town unexpectedly released him due to his lack of goals.

Despite this setback, Moore’s parents and other family members were his rock. Their unwavering support provided him with the strength to keep going and not give up on his career. It’s a common challenge for players in the lower leagues to face such rejections, and many are tempted to walk away from the sport, but Moore’s family stood by him and helped him continue his pursuit of football.

The Welsh footballer, after his Yeovil rejection, made a big decision. Kieffer Moore decided to leave his family behind to play football in another country. Among all countries in Europe, he chose the Norwegian club Viking.

Unfortunately, Living in Norway wasn’t favourable for the boy who loves the UK so much. A homesick Kieffer decided he would return to English football. Upon his return, he began the quest to look for a club.

At that time, it was Kieffer Moore’s desire to get into a League Two club. Unfortunately, his trials with Exeter City and Leyton Orient didn’t go as planned.

Rather than giving up his career, he decided to move a step lower – to the national league (this is the 5th tier of English football). Moore, in June 2016, humbly signed for National League club Forest Green Rovers.

Showing humility by playing as a Central Defender instead of a Striker:

A very humble Kieffer Moore did everything his coach asked him to do. For example, he never grumbled about playing as a Central Defender, even though he was a natural striker.

Even as a central defender, Kieffer did well as he helped his club to a famous win against Braintree Town.

When moved to his normal striking position, he scored goals that pushed Forest Green into the National League playoffs. Sadly, an injury did not allow Kieffer to help his club reach the play-off final at Wembley.

Moving to the Championship at last:

Did you know?… A 28-day loan deal to National League club Torquay United changed Kieffer Moore’s destiny forever. The Welsh footballer achieved a meteoric rise with the new club.

He scored on his debut (against Wrexham) and went on to score a hat-trick in a big win over Solihull Moors. This performance gave him the needed attention from clubs in the bigger English leagues (Championship and the EFL League One).

Kieffer Moore Biography – The Long Journey to Success:

The Welsh Striker (thanks to his great performance for Torquay United) got a straight ticket to the Championship. The Championship club, Ipswich Town, signed Moore for £10,000.

Trusting his abilities, all Moore needed was to get into the first team. In the absence of that, he humbly decided to move a league downward, joining League One club Rotherham United.

Kieffer Moore believed the way to go up is to first go down. While at Southend United, he proved that he was worth more than a miserable £10,000 – the money Ipswich Town used to sign him earlier.

The late bloomer made a strong statement by scoring a hat-trick on his home debut against Southend United. Again, Moore went on to score a brace in his next match.

At last, the footballer who once faced rejection saw himself as the league’s top scorer. By achieving this feat, he cemented his image as a true Championship material.

On 8 January 2018, a Championship club, Barnsley, acquired Kieffer Moore. In his second season with Barnsley, he emerged as the Tykes’ first-choice striker. He scored 17 goals in 31 matches, helping the club get a promotion.

Becoming a Championship material:

After a head injury and a long period of absence from football, the Welsh Attacker moved to the Championship club, Wigan Athletic. 6 foot 5 Moore led Wigan to their biggest victory in the club’s history (an 8-0 win).

During his stay at Wigan, he was nominated for goal of the month (February 2020). Despite Moore’s goal-scoring efforts, Wigan was relegated from the Championship because of point deductions.

Following Wigan’s relegation, Kieffer Moore’s family requested he stay closer to Wales. Rather than following a relegated Wigan to League 1, Moore joined Cardiff City, a Championship club that brought out the best in him.

While there, he won the PFA Player of the Month award (in February 2021) after a run of five goals. Watch the goals that turned Kieffer Moore into a Beast.

The Journey to the Premier League:

At the start of 2022, Moore opened a new chapter in his life. He began a quest to push himself into the Premier League. AFC Bournemouth signed him in January 2022, and his goals kept the club so high on the Championship table.

The exit of Arnaut Danjuma made the club explore more options on the front line. That led to Kieffer Moore, Dominic Solanke, and Jaidon Anthony enjoying a solid trio partnership. At last, Moore reached the Promise Land of English football – The Premier League.

Did you know?… Kieffer Moore scored the match-winning goal (against Nottingham Forest), a goal that secured Bournemouth’s promotion to the 22/23 Premier League season.

Moving on to great heights – The World Cup and Premier League:

The year 2022 saw Moore achieving two of his biggest career dreams. The greatest of them is helping Wales (for the first time since 1958) qualify for the FIFA World Cup in 2022.

He partnered well with Gareth Bale, Daniel James (RW), Brennan Johnson, etc, to help his country achieve this feat. As stated earlier, Kieffer dedicated his 2022 World Cup qualification victory to his late granddad.

On the 6th of August 2022, Moore began his premier league life on a positive note. He was among Scott Parker’s Bournemouth side that defeated Steven Gerrard’s Aston Villa – a 2-0 win. Here is Kieffer Moore’s first Premier League goal in his first-ever match in the top flight of English football. What a Man!

No doubt, Moore is a perfect late bloomer. He is destined for more goals and success in his later years, especially in the forthcoming 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar. The rest, as we say, of Kieffer Moore, a Baller who enjoys life at the Lane, is now history.
