His coaching journey began in 1993 with Empoli, and he managed various clubs in Italy, including two successful stints with Roma, where he secured two consecutive Coppa Italia titles.

Spalletti also led Zenit St. Petersburg from 2009 to 2014, clinching two Russian Premier League titles. After spending two seasons with Inter Milan, he took charge of Napoli in 2021, guiding them to victory in the Serie A during the 2022–23 season.

However, he left Napoli in June 2023. In August 2023, he was appointed Italian national football team coach. Luciano Spalletti and his wife Tamara have three children. Beyond football, Spalletti owns a family farm in Tuscany, situated on a ridge outside Montaione.

He has three children with his wife Tamara Angeli: Samuele (born in 1992), who is now a lawyer; Federico (born in 1995), known as Chicco, who is a musician; and little Matilde ( born in 2011), to whom her father dedicated the scudetto.
