The U-Turn:

Piotr Zielinski was later known to have two more trials at Dutch clubs, Feyenoord and SC Heerenveen, before he made his choice of club. In the end, the 14-year-old parents ruled out the possibility of their son joining Bayer 04 Leverkusen, Liverpool or the Dutch clubs.

Zielinski, who respected his Dad’s wish, decided to continue his football with Zagłębie Lubin. This is a Polish professional football club founded in 1945 as OMTUR Lubin based in Lubin. Initially named OMTUR Lubin, the club competes in the Ekstraklasa.

It is pertinent to state that Liverpool, at some point, still insisted they wanted the Polish Midfielder who had recently won against them. When Piotr Zielinski’s Dad was asked to give an explanation for the baffling decision of rejecting Liverpool, Bogusław calmly replied;

“England is not for my son”.

Early Difficulties:

Piotr Zielinski joined Zagłębie Lubin After the sixth grade of primary school. His early stay at the academy as a boarder was filled with struggles, as he missed his family. Within the first few weeks at Zagłębie Lubin, Zielinski cried a lot because he was homesick.

On more than one occasion, the club’s psychologist called Piotr Zielinski’s parents to explain their son’s difficulty. At some point, Bogusław and Beata agreed to take him back home, but their son refused. Soon, the youngster adjusted to his new surroundings.

Piotr Zielinski Biography – Rise to Fame:

At the age of 17, the boy from Ząbkowice Śląskie was ready to explore a new, different world. That year, in 2011, Piotr Zielinski joined the Italian club Udinese. His parents allowed him to go to a boarding school, but their son (who was then so mature) preferred to live alone.

In 2012, the Polish star successfully graduated from Udinese Calcio’s academy. Afterwards, he began playing in the club’s senior team alongside other Rising youngsters like Roberto Pereyra and Luis Muriel. The Zagłębie Lubin Star had a smooth start to life with senior football.

Senior career Rise:

To the joy of Piotr Zielinski’s family, their son, in 2013, got rewarded with a call-up to the Polish national team. To experience Italian life elsewhere, Udinese sent him on loan to Empoli. After his fifth goal with the Florence club, Napoli snatched him away from Udinese.

In 2016, there were months of transfer speculation, and the deal to join Napoli came after the club paid €16 million for Zielinski’s services. Under the command of Maurizio Sarri, he, alongside Allan and Jorginho, enjoyed a solid partnership in all sectors of the midfield.

Since joining the club, Zielinski has risen to become one of Italy’s best midfielders, thanks to his consistency over the years. When Men of Calibre were in the team (like Dries Mertens Lorenzo Insigne, Hirving Lozano, etc.), his Napoli side won the 2019/20 Coppa Italia.

Winning the 2019–20 Coppa Italia was his first-ever senior career trophy.

Personal Life:

Piotr lives with his wife, Laura, and son (Maksymilian) on the outskirts of Naples. Beata Zielinski (his Mum), who greatly influences their children, once revealed that her last born is very talented but sensitive.

Beata recalled that when Piotr started to play football, he had a black friend on his team. During training camps, he would live with this friend of his in a room.

Bogusław Zielinski always visits their son so he could calm him down. It happened after some players scared him, making him not to sleep all through the night.

Back in the day, everyone knew about Piotr’s sensitivity, which wasn’t the most desirable attribute of a professional football. This explains why Zielinski wasn’t vaccinated in his childhood. But as time went on, the youngster gradually overcame the issue and became more confident.

Beata regrets that her celebrity son, Piotr, inherited his temperament from his Dad, Bogusław. Fortunately, her son also took certain enjoyable attributes of her husband. Examples of those include him being very polite, intelligent, calm, and well-organized.

Lifestyle:

From the onset, Bogusław and Beata had no worries that their son would be lost in the vortex of the big world. A world that is sucked with high-earning footballers flaunting exotic cars, attending big parties and making big money spending on buying luxurious houses.

Only once did Zielinski scare his family members when he decided he would get a tattoo. According to his parents, if any ink got drawn on his body, they would wash them off with a pumice stone. The humble son of Beata and Bogusław desisted from that and continued to maintain his humble lifestyle.

When Zielinski had COVID, he shared this house with Laura, who was immune to the virus. Fortunately, there are conditions for living together; they used separate rooms and bathrooms. At some point, it became harder for Piotr to climb the stairs as he got weakened by the virus.

Piotr Zielinski Family Life:

Great Mums have produced celebrity Football Sons, and Beata is not an exception.

The idea to call her grandson Maksymilian Zieliński came from a joint decision by Beata and her family. They all met and decided on the name of Piotr’s son.

Beata is a woman who often gets irritated when her son is negatively assessed by football fans. In her words,

When my son plays badly, he, in the eyes of strangers, becomes a crap right away. There is always no mercy. The first two days after a bad game are the most difficult.

As I write her son’s Biography, Beata is very satisfied with his progress with Napoli. The mother of three continues to take care of disabled children.

Piotr Zielinski Father:

Bogusław is an Eagle Zabkowice alumnus, a football-addicted man who transferred the virus to his three sons. When Piotr Zielinski’s Dad concluded his youth career, he travelled to Germany to play with several amateurish clubs in Dortmund.

EndNote:

Piotr Sebastian Zieliński is the son of Bogusław (his Dad) and Beata (his Mum). He, from a football-loving middle-class family background, grew up with two older brothers. Pawel is Piotr Zielinski’s brother (immediate older), and Tomasz Zielinski is the family’s oldest child.

Bogusław (a coach and retired footballer) and Beata (a care worker) raised Piotr and his siblings in a football-bound home. After his Dad, an ex-soccer player, concluded his career with lower division clubs in Germany. After retirement, Bogusław became a coach, and he began to groom his three sons into loving the sport.

From the age of three, Piotr Zieliński was trained by his Dad to become a great footballer. Similar to Timo Werner and his Dad, getting the best out of his son sometimes came as a paid service. It is on record that Piotr Zielinski’s parents agreed to give him little money for successfully juggling with a ball.

At the age of six, the youngster’s career started at his hometown’s local club named Orzel Zabkowice Slaskie. Young Piotr, at that time, attended Primary School No. 1 in Ząbkowice Śląskie. Through hard work and making on-pitch wise decisions, Bogusław Zieliński’s son became the envy of top European teams.

In 2007, Piotr got invited to participate in a friendly youth tournament with Bayer 04. In that competition, Zieliński’s team defeated Liverpool in the finals. Despite multiple trials at different European teams, Bogusław accepted that his son would continue his football in Poland.

Zieliński played for Zagłębie Lubin before joining the Italian club Udinese, where he turned pro. As I conclude this Bio, Piotr has achieved success at both professional and personal levels. He is married to Laura Słowiak, and both lovers have a son named Maksymilian Zieliński.
