Today, decades later, she remains the proudest great-grandmother, witnessing her son’s incredible journey in the world of football.

Growing up on the outskirts of 202 Rua Sinimbu, in the Nossa Senhora de Lourdes neighbourhood, Tite’s early years were marked by a mix of mischief and normal boyhood adventures.

Tite Childhood Story:
For beginners of his Biography, the names “Tite and Ade” are just his nicknames. Tite’s full name is Adenor Leonardo Bacchi. The professional football coach was born on the 25th day of May 1961 to his Mother, Ivone Bachi, and Father, Seu Genor, in Caxias do Sul, Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil.
Tite is the first son among three children (himself, a sister and a brother) born to the union between his parents – Seu Genor and Ivoni Bachi.
Now, let’s introduce you to Tite’s Mother and Father. Seu Genor and Ivoni Bachi are great parents who raised him and his siblings with dignity and respect.
Growing-Up:
Adenor Leonardo Bacchi had a normal childhood in the 1960s. He spent his boyhood days on the outskirts of 202 Rua Sinimbu, in the Nossa Senhora de Lourdes neighbourhood of Caxias do Sul. Tite grew up alongside two of his siblings – Bea and Mino.
Beatriz Bachi is Tite’s sister – the firstborn child of Seu Genor and Ivone Bachi. The Brazilian coach is the second child, while Miro (his little brother) is the last born of the family.
Find below the trio of children of Ivoni Bachi and Genor. From left to right, we have Tite, Miro and Beatriz.
As children, the siblings (Beatriz, Adenor and Miro) shared a great bond. Ade (Tite), who had always had football in his DNA, loved to play with the family dogs – Trunfo and Piloto.
Beatriz Bachi, who is Tite’s sister, has, over the years, been the record keeper of their childhood photos. Here is one she kept, which has her and the future Brazilian manager – her little brother (Tite).
Beatriz describes her brother as a very polite boy during his childhood. Tite’s parents raised him in a devoted catholic home.
At the age of 11 in 1972, the future World Cup Coach had his first communion. Tite often gets emotional when he sees this photo of him receiving communion while his father Genor (already deceased), watches.
Tite Early Life:
Adenor’s story began on a path in São Braz neighbourhood, surrounded by open hills. This place where he honed his football skills had many sheep and plantations of typical cold fruits such as peach, apple and persimmon.
The road path of this São Braz neighbourhood connects the access road to Caxias do Sul’s city interior.
Despite being born in São Braz, it was in the east of Caxias do Sul that Adenor Leonardo Bacchi had his football upbringing. At first, he wasn’t always with a soccer ball as he played with sock balls.
Early on, Tite and his brother would have penalty shootouts between the fridge and their Mother’s sewing machine. When he is not playing football, Tite would be found shooting his bow and arrow.
Ademir Fermino (Tite’s brother) noticed his big brother was so talented and hungry for soccer success more than he and the rest of their friends outside. Beatriz Bachi, Tite’s sister, also played soccer alongside her brothers.
Back then, she played at midfield to hold Ade’s momentum. And Ade loves to shoot at his younger brother, Miro, who was the goalkeeper of their house. As a little boy, Tite began supporting two clubs – Grêmio and Juventude.
Tite Family Background:
The Bacchis were the type who would wake up and, before sleeping, listens and talk about football. So far as our research can tell, the Brazilian professional football coach is from a close-knit middle-class household.
Beatriz Bachi, Tite’s sister, was a bit different as she was also into listening to songs on the radio (during the 1960s). So, it annoyed her when the family preferred listening to the wonders of Pele on the radio rather than music.
Why is there a deep love for football in the Bacchi family? It is because sports runs in the veins of all male members.
Starting off, Tite’s father, Seu Genor is a retired footballer. He, in the 70s, once wore the number 5 jersey for São Braz football club. People often say Seu Genor was a great footballer who began coaching after retirement.
Tite’s Dad operated a below-middle-class family who lived in a small apartment close to the church of São Braz.
While Adenor Leonardo Bacchi’s father was a former footballer, his Mum, is a seamstress. Ivone Bachi sews and makes clothes as her job.
Back in the day, Tite never minds his Mum screams or threats (with her hot stove iron or sewing ruler) when he shoots his ball at her sewing machine. Tite’s family sometimes face hardship and his Mum (a dressmaker) uses her income to cover the bills.
As a little boy, Adenor Leonardo (Tite’s real name) enjoyed the great company of his parents, who were always there for him and his siblings.
Going to Torres Beach in southern Brazil was traditional for the great family. Here is a rare photo of Tite and his family (his Dad, Mum, Brother and Sister) as they spent quality time at the famous Torres beach.
More about Adenor’s Family:
Love that truly never grows old exists in Tite’s family. Over time, everyone has moved forward together, and success has taken its course.
From childhood to the present, Tite has watched his parents and extended family members age with grace.
Sadly, at the time this photo was taken, his Dad, Seu Genor wasn’t too well, and he died months later.
Tite Family Life:
Everyone knows him as a special person, charismatic, very attentive and humble person, a man who is very commented to his home. This section gives more insight about Tite’s family members. So without further ado, let’s begin
About Tite’s Father:
Seu Genor died in the year 2009 at the time his son (Adenor Leonardo Bacchi) coached Internacional. After his death, Tite, it is clear that his greatest wish could not be filled.
All the coach wanted was for his Dad to physically witness him and his players lifting the Suruga Bank Championship, which he won in 2009. Tite’s Father (Seu Genor) died before his son could lift that trophy.
Tite’s Father was the type who hardly smiled, and it would lots of effort to let out his discrete nature. Seu Genor, before his death, was a great man who brought out the best in his wife (Ivone) and children.
About Tite’s Mother:
Just like her husband, Ivone Bachi is also of Italian descent. Again, Tite’s Mum is a devoted Catholic. For many years she has lived with her daughter, Beatriz, in their simple family house next to their community church.
The second of Ivone’s children, Adenor Leonardo Bachi (Tite), was born in that old-fashioned home that is more than 60 years old.
At the time of writing this Bio, Tite has ensured the movement of his mother to a luxurious Rua Sinimbu, a busier neighbourhood in Lourdes.
There is another home for her in Barra da Tijuca. For most years of her life, Tite’s mother, the friendly Ivone Bachi, lived at Avenida Rio Branco, in the Ana Rech district in Caxias.
Ivone Bachi finds it hard to leave the house except when invited by her children. Tite’s Mum is the most closest to her second son and last-born child.
Here is Tite’s mother, the 82 years old Ivone Bachi, with her youngest child, Ademir Fermino, inside her room of their old family home.
Tite’s Siblings:
In this biography, we’ll tell you more about Adenor Leonardo Bacchi’s brother (Miro) and Sister (Bea). So, without further ado, let’s begin.
Tite’s Sister:
Beatriz Bachi Marchett, nicknamed Bea is a businesswoman and the older sister of Adenor Leonardo Bachi. In 1958 (three years before Tite was born), Genor and Ivone had Beatriz.
Bea, pictured below, is three years older than Tite. Beatriz has grown to become more attached to the game of football thanks to the success of her younger brother, Adenor.
Tite’s Brother:
After Adenor Leonardo Bachi, who was born in 1961, came Ademir Fermino. He is Tite’s best friend. Mino (who was born to Genor and Ivone in 1966) is Tite’s brother, and his nickname is Miro.
According to research, Miro oversees CELTE – Tite, a Sports and Leisure Center located in Ana Rech. Tite’s brother, Ademir Fermino, is also known for his close relationship with their mother, Dona Ivone, as shown in the image below.
Tite’s Grandparents:
According to our research, the history of football in the family is traced to his paternal grandfather. Tite’s grandfather, who was a youth player, practically died inside a soccer field – as revealed by his sister, Beatriz Bachi Marchett.
Tite’s Uncle:
Among all of them, the one pictured below appears to be the most famous. Adenor’s uncle got married when he was seven years old. Little Tite (in white) along with his brother Miro (youngest of the family) and sister Beatriz, took this photo that has their uncle and his new wife in it.
Tite’s Cousin:
The most popular among them is Rufino Gerônimo Mazzocchi. He is far older than Tite – in his 80s at the time this Bio is being written. Rufino Gerônimo Mazzocchi was a footballer (a striker) during the 1960s.
He once took Tite to play with adults at the age of 15 but had to withdraw him from the field because his bigger opponents were hitting him very hard.
Just like Tite’s family, that of Rufino Gerônimo Mazzocchi are also Italian immigrants. Rufino is related to either Adenor’s Mum or Dad.
Tite Family Origin:
First things first: Adenor is Brazilian with Italian ancestral origins. It might interest you to know that both Luiz Felipe Scolari and Adenor Leonardo Bacchi’s families immigrated from Italy.
Regarding where Tite’s family comes from (in Brazil), our research points to São Braz, in the east of Caxias do Sul.
It is a fact that Caxias do Sul is the second most populous city in Rio Grande do Sul, with over 480,000 inhabitants.
Again, where Tite’s family comes from is 120 km from Porto Alegre, in the Serra Gaúcha.
Tite’s Education:
Early on, Adenor Leonardo Bacchi and his brother (Miro) attended Ginásio Estadual do Bairro Guarani. This is a state school that had no football pitch to play on.
This school is now called Emílio Meyer Municipal High School. Miro, Tite’s brother, often remembers that people always respected his brother a lot when he was at school. He once said,
At school, people would say: “don’t mess with Miro because he’s Adenor’s brother”.
Tite wasn’t the kind of student that fought at school, but he didn’t accept anyone messing with him or me.
Tite’s school report cards:
At the time Tite attended this school, it was called Ginásio Estadual do Bairro Guarani (as shown below on his report card).
Now, let’s show you Tite’s school report cards. Do you know?… Agenor’s best performance was in his 6th grade. As you can see, he made several Bs.
In this next report card, Tite got negative comments from his teacher at Emílio Meyer College in Caxias do Sul. As written here, the Brazil national team coach was defined as a student with little desire to study.
While at school, Tite was not punctual, didn’t like t study, talked a lot, and his notebook was ugly. In the following report card, the World Cup coach was described as a student who is often “distracted and unwilling” to study. This comment came in 1973 from his Adenor’s Communication and Expression teacher.
In the following report card, Tite was described as someone who does not have a positive influence in his class. Adenor Leonardo Bacchi’s teacher defined him as a boy who finds it hard to work, doesn’t answer questions and loves to disturb.
In 6th grade, when Tite made good grades at school, he wasn’t used to jumping over the school back wall to play football. When football interest came, his teachers often signalled him as a student who stood out for his sporting interest. Back then, he had a childhood friend named Titi whom he shared school chores and played football with.
In order to play football, Tite developed the habit of climbing over the back wall of a private nun’s school which is two hundred metres from his family house. The Brazilian World Cup Coach to this day maintains a close relationship with the school (Ginásio Estadual do Bairro Guarani).
Career Buildup:
During his schooling, Tite enrolled at Instituto Estadual de Educação Cristovão de Mendoza. This institution had a certain Luiz Felipe Scolari as his physical education teacher. As sources revealed, Scolari was true to his nature, a stern taskmaster when he began his role as a physical education teacher.
When it comes to football, Scolari saw Tite as one of the students he was most impressed with. Thanks to that love for the boy’s passion, he gave Tite his first opportunity to become a professional footballer. Luiz Felipe Scolari introduced Adenor to Caxias, a professional football club located in his hometown.
He invited Ade for a tryout at Caxias, and on that day, he got the name confused. Scolari then have Adenor the nickname, Tite. Surprisingly, it became the nickname that remained with him for the rest of his career. Adenor (now Tite) passed the Caxias trial and joined the team. Although he later converted to a midfielder, Tite began playing as a striker (only for a short time).
Unknown Luiz Felipe Scolari, the little boy he brought to Caxias would become one of his greatest rivals as a coach. The truth is, fate did make their path cross a few times in the future as both Tite and Scolari managed two of the greatest clubs in Brazil (Corinthians and Palmeiras).
Tite Biography – Football Story (playing career):
When Tite reached the age of 10, his parents advised him to take a part-time job to bring a little money to his family. For the youngster, the pressure to work was a bit of a distraction from his football.
Tite’s sister, Bea, at that time, worked at a car dealership in front of the Bacchi family home. She offered to help her little brother (Tite) get a job as the office boy.
The future World Cup coach could only work for week weeks. Tite spoke to his Dad that he would not work anymore. His Mum offered to work harder so she could relieve her son of the responsibility. While Tite’s Dad took care of most of his responsibilities at home, his Mum (Ivone Bachi) agreed harder to pay for his lunch, so he could not depend on his Dad for that.
Tite graduated from academy football and began his senior career with Caxias in 1978. Six years later, the midfielder moved to Esportivo de Bento Gonçalves. The stay at the Brazilian club was short-lived as he transferred to Portuguesa after a year with Esportivo.
From 1986 to 1988, when he transferred to the Brazil side, Guarani, Tite had the best of playing days. The Brazilian midfielder was part of the squad that finished as runners-up in three tournaments. First is the 1986 Campeonato Brasileiro Série A. Then the 1987 Copa União and the good old 1988 São Paulo State Championship.
Sadly, Tite’s playing career ended prematurely when he was set to win his first trophies. At 27 years of age, he suffered successive knee injuries. These injuries made Adenor lose mobility on one of his knees, forcing him to retire from football.
Journey to Managerial Fame:
After retiring prematurely from soccer, Adenor Bacchi decided to go into business. Adenot, or Tite as we know him, went on to open a sports shop in Bento Gonçalves. Just after doing that, he received a call to come to play football again. The injury-prone midfielder knew about his physical situation but still had to give it a try. Rather than playing on the field, Tite requested the role of a fitness coach.
Midway through the season, Tite’s Boss, Celso Freitas, left the club. Adenor was appointed manager to fill up his place; since then, he has not looked back. For 26 years – the year 1990 to 2016, Tite got 17 club managerial appointments and 13 trophies- all within Brazil.
In 2016, Brazil’s FA found him worthy of replacing Dunga as national team coach. In his early reign, Tite brought out the best in Neymar, Fabinho, Roberto Firmino, Alisson Becker, Gabriel Barbosa, etc. Although he lost to Kevin De Bruyne‘s Belgium team in the 2018 FIFA World Cup quarter-finals, Tite led Brazil to win the Superclásico de las Américas that year.
With Brand new names like Eder Militao, Everton, David Neres, and Richarlison added to his collection of stars, Tite won the 2019 Copa América trophy. As we delve into Adenor Leonardo Bacchi’s biography, it’s important to note that he has moved past the disappointment of Brazil’s early exit from the 2022 FIFA World Cup. Tite (who is leaving after the 2022 World Cup) hopes to win the tournament so he can confirm his status as one of his country’s greatest-ever coaches. The rest, as we say, is now history.
Rosmari Rizzi Bachi – Tite’s Wife:
She is the woman who stole the heart of the famous Brazil football coach. At the time Tite decided to put some spice on his lifestyle, he met and fell in love with Rosmari Rizzi Bacchi.
Adenor has been married to Rosmari Rizzi for decades – more than 30 years. Rosmari and Adenor’s love for each other is still the same, as when they first met. Together, both lovers are parents of two children – a boy (Matheus Bacchi) and a girl (Gabriele Bacchi).
Who is Rosmari Rizzi Bacchi?
Starting off, Tite’s wife is a native of Caxias do Sul (her birthplace). Rosmari Rizzi was born on the 31st day of May 1964.
By implication, she is three years younger than Adenor, her husband. Rosmari Rizzi Bacchi manages Tite Marketing Ltda in Caxias do Sul-RS, which is owned by her husband. Again, she’s been a loyal fan and supporter of Ade’s soccer and coaching career.
How Tite meet Rosmari his wife?
She was working in her father’s restaurant when she saw Adenor leaving his sister (after their discussion) to work in a nearby company. At that time, Rosmari knew Tite as that handsome boy who used to pass by and stare at her. She was also staring at him too and they did that for over a year. One day, Tite showed up, took Rosmari’s hands, and said;
“I need to talk to you, little girl”
Tite’s wedding with Rosmari:
Adenor Leonardo Bacchi was supposed to get married precisely on the 22nd day of December 1983. Unfortunately, Tite and Rosemari’s wedding did not take place that day. Just a month before their planned wedding, Adenor sustained a knee injury that required him to undergo surgery. The surgery was slated to happen on December 5th, which is three weeks before his wedding.
Rather than moving their wedding to the first quarter of 1985 (when he recovered), Tite and Rosmari decided to marry earlier – on the 30th day of November 1984. After their colourful wedding, the couple drove to Campinas (a Brazilian municipality in São Paulo), which was the venue for their honeymoon.
Matheus Rizzi Bacchi – Tite’s Son:
Born on the 8th day of January 1989, he is the first son of Tite and Rosmari Rizzi. Like his father and grandfather, Matheus also became a footballer. Tite’s son once played for NCAA Division II soccer at Carson-Newman University. As I write his Dad’s Bio, Matheus Rizzi Bacchi is currently a football coach. This is Matheus, with his Dad, Tite and Mum, Rosemari.
Tite’s son got married in 2016 to his high school sweetheart, Fernanda Hundertmarck Silva. It was a lavish wedding with over 300 guests in attendance (friends and family members). Matheus and Fernanda Silva’s wedding was held in their hometown of Caxias do Sul, RS. Tite and his wife (Rosmari Rizzi Bacchi) are presently grandparents to Lucca, who is Matheus and Fernanda’s son.
Personal Life:
Rosmari Rizzi Bachi, along with the entire Bacchi family, can attest to Tite’s dedication as a loving father. As of 2024, the Brazilian coach, who is managing his heart condition well, understands the importance of balancing his career with family time. He prioritizes spending quality moments with his wife, children, and grandchildren.
The former student of Ginásio Estadual do Bairro Guarani visits us once a year. While there, Tite gives lectures to the students and talks about encouraging sports, humility and how to win in life. Truth is, he is a special person, someone who is charismatic, very attentive and humble. Everyone in Tite’s family has this trait.
Throughout his life and career, Tite is someone who has forged many victories as well as disappointments. These disappointments (like his knee injury) made him more studious, dedicated and responsible. One of Adenor’s flaws is being too focused on his job at the expense of his leisure activities.
Tite Lifestyle:
Speaking of what he does in his free time, the Brazil coach reads a lot. One of Tite’s favourite books is that written by the Brazilian writer Martha Medeiros. His desire to always improve is part of the secret to his constant evolution. This is what makes Tite adored by different many soccer fans, including his rivals.
From his early years, Ade never bothered himself about having girlfriends or going to parties. He was the kind of person who people described as tight-fisted and always in love with his football. Much later, the Brazilian coach decided to let loose of himself and that made him find his wife, Rosmari Rizzi Bachi.
Tite’s House:
As a child, Adenor Leonardo Bacchi’s family lived in a small hall close to the Church of São Braz. Tite later built a luxurious apartment in Barra da Tijuca for his parents. In that big house, everything remains, especially the things that connect to his origins.
