Learning his skills at the little courts in Fuerte Apache gave Thiago an advantage in technique, tricks, going forward and making mischief with the ball.

Aside from playing the game, the youngster sold vegetables and fruit (door-to-door) to earn extra money.

Road to Fame Story:

The youngster, who dreamt of becoming a professional, found the need to progress to greater challenges. One way to achieve that was to join a bigger team. So in 2006, Thiago Almada found himself in the books of Vélez Sarsfield, a Buenos Aires soccer academy.
