Subsequently, in October 2020, Wissa received his first-ever invitation to join the DR Congo squad for a series of friendly matches. During his second and third appearances for the national team, he showcased his talent by scoring two goals.

The first goal came in a friendly match, while the second goal was scored during a 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifying match against Morocco. As of this writing, he plays for a Premier League club, Brentford, with a contract extended to 2026.
