The American-born footballer did not mind moving to a different country and starting his life all over again. For Musah, the rhythm of his life is always centred on moving, adapting and working. “My little brother was not scared,” says Abdul. Still, changing environment and culture and leaving behind his comfort zone was a daunting challenge. Next, Yunus Musah developed a habit of doing long walks and random things in the hope that it will improve his performance. Again, he constantly questioned himself on how he would be going to show that he was capable of being a first-team player under the new manager.

Yunus Dimoara Musah bears the nickname “Road Runner.” The American Soccer player was born on the 29th day of November 2002 to his Mother, Amina Musah and Father, Ibrahim Musah. Yunus has Ghanaian parents and his birthplace is New York, the United States.

While growing up, the youngster looked up to his Dad and Mum – Amina and Ibrahim, whose journey inspired him. Long before he was born, his family resided in Ghana. Yunus Musah’s Dad, who was 16, decided to travel abroad. In his quest to get a job and settle in Italy.

When Ibrahim Musah got settled in Italy, he decided to return back to Ghana to find a wife. Amina and Yunus’s Dad got married and left their home country back to Europe. Together, they both have children, one of whom is Abdul, the brother of the Soccer star.

Yunus was born in New York at a time his Mum travelled there to visit her uncle. She, who went with Abdul, obeyed doctors’ orders to remain in the United States to have her baby. A few months after Yunus was born, he, his mum, and his brother returned to Italy.

Musah began his career with Giorgione, an Italian academy in Castelfranco Veneto. After his Dad lost his job, an extended family member (who provided Ibrahim with a permanent job) advised him to relocate his family to East London. So in 2012, Yunus Musah’s family moved to London.

At age nine, the youngster began with Sunday League before joining Arsenal’s Academy. Yunus Musah grew through the Arsenal ranks, and at the age of 16, he joined Valencia. The Globetrotter became the blueprint for Valencia’s future, a feat that earned him a place with the USMNT.
