Once had a Disease:

At age 14, Casemiro was diagnosed with Hepatitis. This was the time he arrived at the São Paulo club to take part in senior football. At a time, his health failed him.

During that period, Casemiro was in a difficult place. He looked frail and sickly, spending three months unable to train or play. Reflecting on his struggle, he shared:

“As soon as I arrived in São Paulo, I was struck by Hepatitis. I spent a lot of time not training or playing, which made me restless and worried that I had failed. Many people advised me to stay calm, but at one point, I even considered quitting football, despite eventually recovering.

It was the challenges I faced in my past and the suffering my family endured that gave me the strength to continue.”

Building from Makelele:

Ball-winner par excellence and an efficient distributor who has built from Makelele. Similar trends have followed for both Casemiro and Makelele.

Claude Makélélé enjoyed a highly successful stint at Real Madrid, where he won two La Liga titles and one Champions League during his three years at the Santiago Bernabéu. However, his time with the club ended when he left for Chelsea due to a pay dispute.

After Makélélé’s departure, Real Madrid’s fortunes changed dramatically. In the three years that followed, the club failed to win any major trophies. His absence highlighted the crucial role he played in midfield, where his tactical intelligence, positional discipline, simple passing, and defensive reliability were sorely missed.

This gap was eventually filled by Casemiro, who brought his own brand of defensive midfield prowess to the team. With his aggressive tackling, relentless work ethic, and tactical acumen, Casemiro has become a vital presence for Real Madrid, earning the appreciation of fans for his contributions.
